2011.12.19, the final
conference on SUSTGREENHOUSE project results takes place: three
years of work in order to give a more sustainable greenhouse farming
into a reserve park at environmental risk, through the utilisation
of market low cost technologies: precision farming, soil substrates
(compost, mychorriza, zeolythes) defrosting irrigation system
with 360° sprinklers, thermic screen. Among the main results
should be mentioned: the prolongation of the harvesting season,
decrease of the production costs, water and chemical save, the
reduction of greenhouse gasses emission. During the conference
the point of the situation of greenhouse farming is made in terms
of sustainability and technological innovation thanks to the presence
of participants of international renown. The participation to
the conference is free and mainly addressed to the stakeholders
of the farming and environmental chain-system, technicians, farmers

The conference takes place in Fondi in the Municipal Auditorium,
Largo Luigi Fortunato, in the San Domenico Abbey. Download the

- 2011.11.08, the fourth meeting of the
Steering Commitee took place in the headquarter of the Monti Ausoni
Nature Park.

2010.10.28, the fifth
project coordination meeting was held in Rome, ARSIAL headquarter,
with the participation of DISTA and ARSIAL officers in charge.
- 2010.06.25, the fourth and last demonstraion
crop cycle is ended.

2011.01.18, during a meeting held at ESA-ESRIN,
Frascati, the Italian establishment and Centre for Earth Observation
of the European Space Agency (ESA) , a common interest was found
in the sustainability and energy- and water-save trats linking
ESA’s ‘Greenhouse in Space’ project, to the
Sustgreenhouse project thus sharing common didactic and educational
opportunity.
- 2009.12.21, conclusion of the first crop demonstration cycle (zucchini).
- 2009.11.20, the first meeting of the Steering Commitee took
place in the headquarter of the Reserve of the Monumento Naturale
del Lago di Fondi.
- 2009.09.30, the first crop designed to the demonstration action,
zucchini, has been trans-planted into the sustainable greenhouse
pilot model inside "Amedeo Nogarotto" farm of Salto
di Fondi (LT). The greenhouse was previously equipped with all
the specific instruments and technical devices required by the
project.
- 2009.09.28, the first project coordination meeting was held
in Bologna, in the ARIC (University Research Area) headquarter,
with the participation of DISTA and ARSIAL officers in charge.
- 2009.09.24, the amendment procedure has been formally approved
by the Life Unit Directorate.
- 2009.09.10, the Inception Report concerning the project starting
phase, delivered by ARSIAL on 2009.08.01, was formally approved
by the Life Unit Directorate.
- 2009.05.11, the first visit to monitor
the ongoing activities took place into the project's area. It
was accomplished by the External monitoring Team Astrale GEIE
-TIMESIS and it had a positive feedback.
- 2009.04.16, the website "Sustgreenhouse"
was issued on Internet at the address: www.sustgreenhouse.eu.
- 2009.02.02,
the operativity of the project started with the formal personnel
delegation and the first consultations among the participants
in order to contract the mutual agreements.
- 2008.11.24,
the grant agreement for the project was signed between ARSIAL
delegate, Mr. Massimo Pallottini, and the Head of the Life Unit
of the European Union D.G. Environment, Mr. Philip Owen.
